Perhaps it’s due to the ubiquity of office furniture in the corporate
environment, but most people don’t give the equipment they use on a daily basis
too much thought—unless, of course, something breaks. We get so used to the
constancy of our furniture, that a sudden change—even if it’s something as
simple as someone getting a new chair—can instantly capture our attention.
There are great reasons for regularly updating office furniture,
however, which include:
- Maintaining a modern or contemporary image. This allows your offices
to build renown for being in touch with the latest trends. If that’s the
perception you’re using to market your company with, regular office
furniture updates are an absolute must.
- Investing in higher productivity. Each new generation of office furniture is,
more often than not, slightly better than the generation before it in
terms of being ergonomically friendly. This leads to better posture, which
leads to a more physically relaxed workforce, which eventually leads to
gains in productivity.
- Staying protected under a warranty. Office furniture is often
meant to last a lifetime, but that doesn’t always pan out in reality. New
office furniture usually comes with some sort of warranty, however, so regular
updates to the furniture in your office can help you protect yourself
under a warranty for repair or replacement parts, in case something does
go wrong later.
